MADRA News - August 2022

Our AGM is fast approaching

MADRA members, please join us for our Annual General Meeting, which will be held at 7.00pm on Tuesday 16 August at the Mallacoota Golf & Country Club.

The AGM documents including the Agenda, nomination form and proxy form are all available to download from our website: https://madrecovery.com

Please come along to receive the Association’s Financial Report and Annual Report and help elect what we hope will be MADRA’s third committee.

Attendance by Zoom can be arranged - please email madra.3892@gmail.com by Monday 15 August to register your interest in attending by Zoom.

Light refreshments will be available after the conclusion of the meeting. We hope to see you there!

MADRA's 'new look' website

We're pleased to announce that our new website is now live. The website address is still the same: https://madrecovery.com

We think the MADRA website could be useful to other groups looking at community-led recovery after a natural disaster. With that in mind, we have a web page called MADRA Resources, where our Recovery Plan and other MADRA files, presentations and videos can be accessed, and another called Useful Links and Other Resources. We'd love to hear your ideas on extra content we could add that might be helpful to other communities, and any feedback about the rest of the site too.

Last but not least ...

Home efficiency energy course - Thursday 18 August

The Gippsland Community Power Hub is holding Home Energy Efficiency Course on Thursday 18 August. Many of us live in residences where, apart from large changes, small, inexpensive energy efficiency improvements would be desirable and possible.

This is an opportunity to explore the options with an expert in the field as well as our neighbours. The workshop is open to everyone in Mallacoota and District - call Tricia Hiley on 0412 312 881 to book.

The cost is $25 per person and lunch and refreshments are included.

Thanks,

MADRA
